Some abortion clinics are preparing for more out-of-state patients if Roe v. Wade is overturned
An unknown source from the Supreme Court leaked a draft opinion on Roe v. Wade, in which the justices agreed to overturn this law, which will have nation-wide consequences for millions of women seeking an abortion. Although the Supreme Court has verified the draft opinion, it has also stated that the decision is not final. Even so, many speculate about the reason for leaking this type of information, and there are various theories. For example, it could be a supporter of abortion, trying to galvanize liberal voters, furious at the draft opinion. However, despite the reason behind why the decision was leaked, the possible overturning of the Roe v. Wade decision will likely lead to many blue states banning abortion completely within their borders. This will cause states such as Illinois, which have affirmed that abortion will remain a right within their borders, to receive new influxes of patients who need to travel outside their home state for an abortion.
